Welcome to Così italiano!
Così Italiano means “So Italian”, as in “with a name like Eligio Bucciarelli he’s so Italian”. Which, being born in Italy and then even after living in the United States for so many years, I am. My goal is to explore and highlight everything Italian including family, food, drink, living and everything else. In other words, Italian culture. But not only Italian culture as exists in Italy, but also the Italian-American culture which obviously has its roots in Italian culture, but is in many ways different.
As in any culture, you’ll find things that are serious, funny, mundane and in some cases unusual; and the Italian and Italian-American cultures are no different. My journey to understand what theses cultures are really about has lead me to things I already knew intuitively, from experience or by osmosis; and to some things really surprising and and at times shocking. It’s this journey of exploration, learning and understanding that I want to share with Italophiles wherever you may be. Perhaps you’ll identify with my experiences or maybe not. In either case, I hope you follow Così Italiano and enjoy the journey as much as I am. As we say in Italian: Buon Viaggio!
